Casa del Tajo, literally ‘The House on the Cliff’, occupies a unique position, overlooking the spectacular mountain scenery of Andalucia.It is close to the village swimming pool (July/August) and only a few minutes walk from the centre of the traditional, white village of Comares. The house, built by the present owner, is in the Moorish style, as befits the character of the village.

The self-contained apartment, above the owner’s property, has a private front door with its own staircase leading up to the rooms, which are beneath the dome and barrel roof.

As you ascend the narrow stairway, you pass the fully tiled toilet/shower room and emerge under the barrel roof with dining room on one side, and the small, but well-planned and fully equipped kitchen on the other. Through the kitchen a door leads through the breakfast room, with doors to the unique bedroom, with domed ceiling above and small stained glass windows that reflect the brilliant light. As you step onto the spacious, private terrace, you will need time to pause and take in the breath-taking views. From here you can survey the mules and goats being taken down the steep track, that winds below the cliff. Look out for kestrels, that nest on the cliff beneath you and also Black Wheatear, Griffin Vultures and Bee Eaters to name but a few.

Cars can be parked on the road above the property. A flight of steps leads down, through landscaped terraces, to the front door. The main square of Comares is less than 5 minutes walk from the Apartment, through narrow, cobbled streets.

Notes on Prices
Payment is usually in pounds sterling.
Long -term lets are available: Prices negotiable, depending on time of year and length of stay.
3 nights min. stay at £30 per night.

Changeover day
Normally Sunday, but we are very flexible and try to fit in with your holiday dates.
Please arrive between 17.00 and 21.00 local time, if possible. Please leave by 10.00 on day of departure.

Bookings
A firm booking will be made on receipt of your deposit of 25%.
The balance should be paid in full, 6 weeks before the holiday begins.
The deposit and final payment are non refundable in, case of cancellation, unless we are able to re-let the property.

Insurance
You are strongly advised to take out personal and cancellation insurance protection, in case of emergency.
